One system, all seasons

It isn't just air conditioning. It's a cheap way to heat a room, too.

The same unit that keeps a bedroom cool in a heatwave runs in reverse in winter, moving heat from outside to in rather than generating it. That's why it costs a fraction of an electric heater to run — and it's quieter than a fridge.

Summer

A bedroom you can actually sleep in. A home office that isn't 30°C by two o'clock. Set the temperature once and forget about it.

All year

Filtered air, dehumidified when you want it, controlled from your phone. One outdoor unit runs several rooms, so adding another later is straightforward.

Winter

Warm the rooms you're in without heating the whole house. Useful in a home office, a conservatory, or a bedroom the radiators never quite reach.

What actually gets installed

Two units, one small hole, and a day's work.

There's no ductwork and no upheaval. A slim unit goes high on the wall inside, a quieter one sits outside, and a single insulated pipe run connects them.

How a split air conditioning system is installed Cross-section through a house wall. An outdoor unit is mounted outside on brackets. Insulated pipework runs up from it, through a small hole in the wall, to a slim indoor unit mounted high on the wall inside, which delivers cool air in summer or warm air in winter into the room. 1 2 3 4 5 Outside Inside
1Outdoor unitRoughly 80×55×30cm for a typical home system. Wall-mounted on brackets or floor-mounted on a ground stand — whichever suits the property.
2Insulated pipeworkRefrigerant lines, cable and condensate drain, in neat trunking.
3One small holeAround 65mm, angled to drain, sealed and finished both sides.
4Indoor unitSlim, wall-mounted, and quieter than a fridge on low.
5Cool or warm airCooling in summer, efficient heating in winter, from the same unit.

Straight pricing

Two rooms is where most people start.

A price covers the survey, the equipment, the installation, the electrical work and the first year’s service. You get one written price after the survey, and nothing is added on the day.

One outdoor unit can serve several rooms, so the cost per room falls the more you do at once. Most customers start with two and add a third later.

How it works

From first call to first cool night, four steps.

We survey your home

About an hour. We measure the rooms, check the walls and find the quietest spot for the outdoor unit. Free, and no pressure on the day.

You get a fixed price

One written quote with everything in it. Take as long as you like — we don't do one-day-only discounts.

We install it

Usually one day for two rooms. Dust sheets down, boots off, and every scrap of packaging taken away with us.

We come back every year

An annual service keeps the system efficient and the manufacturer warranty valid. We book it — you don't have to remember.

Amalfi Care

Five years of cover, on one condition.

We back every installation with five years on parts and our own labour — well beyond the twelve months most installers give. The condition is simple and we state it plainly: the system is serviced every year by an Amalfi Climate engineer. Not a handyman, not whoever is cheapest that spring. Us.

We are not being awkward about it. Most of what goes wrong with these systems in the early years is a dirty coil, a blocked condensate drain or a flare joint that was never quite right. We can stand behind our own work for five years because we are the ones looking at it. We cannot stand behind somebody else's.

  • Five years, parts and labourOur cover, not just the manufacturer's. It runs as long as the servicing does.
  • The annual visitFilters, both coils, condensate drain, refrigerant pressures and leak check, electrical connections, tested in heating and cooling. Written report every time.
  • Manufacturer warranty protected tooWe register the system and log every visit against it, so the manufacturer has no reason to decline a claim.
  • Priority responseCare customers go to the front of the queue.
  • Add rooms at a fair priceBecause we size the outdoor unit for it, adding a room later is a small job rather than a new system.

One monthly payment

Most people take the lot together — equipment, installation, five years of cover and the servicing — as a single monthly figure. It works out at a few pounds a week, and nothing arrives later as a surprise.

Prefer to pay for the system outright and the servicing yearly? That works too. Ask at your survey.

The work

Real rooms, real houses.

Every one of these was installed by Arron Grainger, our lead engineer, over his years in the trade. Nothing here is a manufacturer’s press photo or a stock image of a room nobody lives in.

Toshiba units throughout — one of the two ranges we fit. Look at where the outdoor units sit and how the pipework is run: that is the part you live with, and it is the part a rushed installation gets wrong.

Before the unit goes on the wall

Most of what decides whether an installation looks right in five years’ time happens before anyone sees a finished unit. Here is the part that usually gets photographed by nobody.

Mounting plate set level with the core hole cut beside it
The plate set level and the core hole cut beside it. Get this wrong by a few millimetres and the condensate will not drain — and the unit sits crooked on the wall for the next fifteen years.
Indoor unit with the trunking run squared off to the ceiling
Trunking squared off and taken straight to the ceiling line, not wandered across the wall to wherever the hole happened to be.
Outdoor unit sited high on a gable end with the pipe run carried straight up
No ground space, so the outdoor unit goes on the gable end and the pipe run goes straight up. Straight, bracketed, and off the render.
We fit Fujitsu and Toshiba systems — two of the most established names in air conditioning, chosen for build quality, quiet running and strong UK parts support. We'll recommend whichever suits your home and your budget, and tell you why.
